Max M. Gatyas
I am currently Assistant Teaching Professor in Philosophy at the University of Wisconsin-Superior.
I recently finished my graduate work at the University of Cincinnati, where I completed a PhD in Philosophy and an MA in Experimental Psychology. I'm interested in moral psychology, ethics, and the philosophy of emotion.
My dissertation focused on empathy. Specifically, I explored what it means for two people to share an emotion, and the role emotion sharing can play in our moral lives. I was also involved with the Department of Speech and Language Pathology at UC, where I was part of a team investigating the role of language in abstract thought.
